You're In

I just got the letter in the mail...University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law accepted me for the fall 2006 term. They just processed my app last week, so I guess I got put in the accept pile quick, which means a good shot at some money too (they put you in a pile right after reviewing the application as accept, pending, or decline...the pending can make the process go for a couple of months). I also applied to IU and UK, and while IU would be my ideal school (top 30, great faculty, facilities, and incredible students), I had all but decided that outside of an insane offer from them, I would be going to UofL if accepted.

Wow, I can't believe I am actually in and am going back to school! Now I know how the contestants on "Project Runway" feel when Heidi Klum tells them they are "in"!

Ciao!

A lawyer, huh. Won't you be stunning as you swish across the courtroom in a smart short skirt and jacket! "Your honor, oh, excuse me, I seem to have dropped my pen, let me just Ben Dover and pick that up!"

How long are you off work? Come to MSG's house and hang for a day. I'm on chemo this week, so no travel for me till they unplug this pump from my chest. And the radiation burn has me singing Johnny Cash's Burning Ring of Fire. We can lay on our fainting couches all day and trash Katie, Martha, Ellen, Inyanla, Bo & Hope, Dr. Phil, and on and on. (Luv me some NBC)

I'm so excited for your ever changing life. Kudos. Take good care.

Christopher:
I only know you through Laura who works with Craig at Anthem Blue Cross. Craig was introduced to my grand son, who Laura referred to as Little Man. So...I know someone who knows someone who knows you.

I admire your strength and courage. I will pray for your speedy recovery. I am very happy for you that you now have a "normal" face.

I lost my daughter and 2 grand babies to domestic violence this past April. I now have to live with an "abnormality" for the rest of my life.

I, too, have found courage to live through my adnormality by forming an organization I call Angels@Work. Our focus is domestic violence awareness through education. Hopefully, through awareness, comes prevention. I go in to middle schools, high schools and colleges to teach the signs young people should look for in perpetrators and the resources available to them should they find themselves in a domestic violence relationship.

May we find hope in new beginnings. You are very lucky to have someone like Craig to stand beside you in the best and worst of times.

I wish you well.

Linda
